Real Estate Lawyer Joins Ballard Spahr

Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP has announced that David A. Barksdale has joined the firm's Las Vegas office as a partner in its Real Estate Department.

Mr. Barksdale, formerly a partner at McDonald Carano Wilson, LLP in Las Vegas, focuses his practice on real estate development, finance and construction, and secured finance. He has represented clients in a wide array of matters, including acquisition, development, construction, financing, leasing and management of commercial and residential projects.

Mr. Barksdale has held senior leadership positions with both a national real estate development company and a regional title insurance company. Licensed to practice in California and Nevada, Mr. Barksdale is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

Ballard Spahr announced that David J. Armstrong has joined Ballard's Phoenix office as a partner in the firm's Environmental practice group. Formerly a shareholder at Gallagher & Kennedy in Phoenix, Mr. Armstrong has substantial experience serving as counsel on environmental matters for a broad range of industrial, manufacturing and commercial clients. Mr. Armstrong's recent experience includes the receipt of a full defense verdict in a multi-million dollar case resulting from alleged migration of petroleum hydrocarbons. He also has successfully represented numerous industrial clients in CERCLA mediations and counseled clients faced with "notices of violations" of county air pollution laws.
