Monday, January 1, 2007 - 01:00

The Practising Law Institute (PLI) has announced the release of the new Securities Litigation: A Practitioner's Guide, which gives attorneys comprehensive, up-to-date legal, procedural, tactical and strategic guidance for securities class action cases.

Useful to both plaintiffs' and defendants' attorneys, Securities Litigation shows how major changes enacted in the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act, the Securities Litigation Uniform Standards Act, and related decisional law have affected pleadings standards, discovery, loss causation, plaintiffs' use of state courts in securities class actions, and other procedural issues.

Securities Litigation also examines how class certification and summary judgments are determined within various contexts under the Federal Rules of Procedure and court rulings.

PLI also has announced the release of Hedge Fund Regulation, a treatise on the numerous federal and state laws and regulations governing hedge funds.

Hedge Fund Regulation, written by Scott J. Lederman of Grosvenor Management Capital, L.P., provides a comprehensive understanding of this $1 trillion industry, including the unique terms that characterize hedge funds and their investment managers and the many different strategies they deploy in the financial markets.
