Ballard Partner Appointed To PA Commonwealth Financing Authority

Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Gerald Pappert, a partner at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, has been appointed to serve on the Board of the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

The seven-member Boardcomprises three gubernatorial appointees and four legislative appointees, each representing one of the legislative caucuses. Mr. Pappert was named to the Board by Senate President Pro Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer and represents the Senate Majority Caucus.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority, created under the Public Authorities and Quasi-Public Corporations Act of 2004, provides, among other things, financial assistance in the form of loans, loan guarantees, grants and private equity participating loans to promote activities that lead to the creation and retention of jobs within the Commonwealth.

Mr. Pappert is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of the White Collar Litigation Group and the Insurance Group. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Pappert served as the attorney general of Pennsylvania. He had previously served as Pennsylvania's first deputy attorney general.
