The executive partner of Holland & Knight's Chicago Office, Steven M. Elrod, recently announced today that Jonathan Furr, the former general counsel to the Illinois State Board of Education, will join Holland & Knight's Chicago Office.

Mr. Furr will practice in the Illinois Land Use and Government Group alongside an established team of municipal and real estate attorneys in the Chicago office. In addition, Mr. Furr will work closely with attorneys in the firm's Education Practice Group, based in Washington, DC.

Holland & Knight also has announced that La Fonte Nesbitt, an African American partner in the firm's Real Estate Section, has been named one of the Fifty Influential Minorities in Business by the Minority Business & Professionals Network (MBPN).
