Thursday, July 1, 2004 - 01:00

Started in 1983, Medical Research Consultants (MRC), recognized as the first nurse-owned medical-legal litigation support firm in the United States, last month opened its second office. Located in downtown Philadelphia, the office's new address is 1616 Walnut Street, Suite 900.

The office will help serve the needs of clients in the Northeast. More than 20 nurses will be headquartered in Philadelphia providing quality nurse reviews and MRC's Triageª of records to law firms, the pharmaceutical industry, insurance firms and corporations. Currently, MRC employs nearly 400 staff including approximately 100 full-time nurses.

Lou Charest, nationally recognized as a leader in record retrieval sales, has been named vice president of sales and marketing. Providing nationwide service, Mr. Charest will operate from the Philadelphia office.

MRC's rapid growth also served as a catalyst for relocation of the headquarters in Houston. MRC formerly occupied some 27,000 square feet. The new location, 6330 West Loop South, Suite 105, Bellaire, TX, incorporates approximately 70,000 square feet. As with its former location, security is being maintained at the highest level at the new Bellaire site. Client records are accessible and searchable 24 hours a day through any web browser in a safe, confidential environment with WiseFilesª knowledge management software. The toll-free number for either office is (888) 868-6769.
