JAMS, The Resolution Experts, last month opened a dispute resolution center in downtown Philadelphia.

According to JAMS President and CEO, Steve Price, local mediators and arbitrators Judith Meyer, Barry E. Ungar, and Stephen G. Yusem will form the JAMS Philadelphia panel of Resolution Experts where they will resolve complex and multi-party disputes full-time.

"As a national ADR provider, it makes sense for us to expand the availability of high quality dispute resolution services into the greater Philadelphia market," Mr. Price said. "Increasingly, top firms and companies are using arbitration and mediation to resolve their most difficult business disputes."

Ms. Meyer has been the principal mediator and arbitrator in J.P. Meyer Associates in Philadelphia, where she has resolved hundreds of private commercial disputes. Prior to founding J.P. Meyer Associates, she was of counsel in the litigation department at Bazelon Less & Feldman, also in Philadelphia. She is a former partner of Lande, Rolston & Meyer in Beverly Hills. Ms. Meyer is on the Board of the International Academy of Mediators and is a member of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.

Mr. Ungar has been an arbitrator for more than 25 years, resolving commercial domestic and international cases. He also has served for many years as a mediator in private disputes, for the Unites States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and as an appointed settlement judge pro tem for the Common Pleas Court of Philadelphia County.

Mr. Yusem, with more than 35 years of arbitration and mediation experience, has trained hundreds of professionals in ADR practice. He is a United States District Court mediator and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section.

JAMS recently expanded its East Coast presence by opening a second New York Resolution Center in Midtown Manhattan, opening new and expanded locations in Boston and Washington, DC,and by combining with East Coast-based ADR Associates LLC in January.
