Jones Day adds bankruptcy and restructuring partner Tom Wearsch in Cleveland

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Tom Wearsch has joined the Firm's Business Restructuring & Reorganization (BRR) Practice as a partner and will be based in its Cleveland Office. He arrives from the Cleveland office of BakerHostetler. 

Mr. Wearsch advises distressed and healthy corporations, financial institutions, equity funds, hedge funds, bondholders, boards, management, and investors in all types of transactions and restructurings related to troubled company situations. He has significant experience in matters involving distressed companies, including bankruptcy, debt finance, commercial law, and bankruptcy litigation. Mr. Wearsch has been corporate and transactional counsel to numerous corporations involved in chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Wearsch's notable casework also includes advising Irving H. Picard, the SIPA Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC and acting as debtor's counsel to Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations in its chapter 11 bankruptcy case pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. He was counsel to purchaser of the offshore production assets of Dune Energy in its chapter 11 bankruptcy case pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas.
