Weil, Gotshal & Manges has announced the formation of its Financial Regulatory Reform Working Group, a multidisciplinary team of lawyers focused on providing timely, practical commentary concerning the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The Group includes over 35 subject matter experts drawn from the firm's various departments, practice groups, and offices.

Much of the regulatory framework deriving from the Dodd-Frank Act will be promulgated at the agency level and in subsequent legislation over the course of the next few years. The Working Group will serve as the firm's main channel through which it will marshal expertise and skill across legal disciplines to respond to its clients' concerns and need for information and analysis. The group will be led by Heath Tarbert of the firm's Washington, DC office. Mr. Tarbert is former Special Counsel to the U.S. Senate Banking Committee and a lead expert and negotiator on the current legislation.

The Working Group will maintain a website, located at http://financial-reform.weil.com, to serve as a resource and knowledge center for interested parties seeking to stay abreast of new regulations and developments as they occur. The site also contains the firm's Overview of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, a 25-page guided tour through the massive new piece of legislation.
