The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity presented its 2009 Edwin Archer Randolph Diversity Award to the Connecticut offices of Day Pitney LLP on Wednesday, May 6.

When announcing the award, Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity noted Day Pitney's $150,000 pledge to the Minority Corporate Counsel Association's 10th Anniversary Campaign; the establishment of a Day Pitney Foundation Diversity Scholarship at Fordham University School of Law (the scholarships are awarded annually to two students from groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession); and sponsorship of the "Connecticut Women Attorneys: Pathways to Success" program.

Internally, Day Pitney has established a Diversity Committee and hired a Director of Diversity and Legal Recruiting. "I cannot imagine a higher honor than to have our efforts recognized by our peers," said Day Pitney co-managing partner Jim Sicilian.
