In its highly selective ranking of the most distinguished individuals in Corporate Governance, Directorship Magazine has named three Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP attorneys, Holly J. Gregory, Ira M. Millstein and E. Norman Veasey, to its roster of the 100 influentials with greatest impact on boardrooms and the governance field overall. In addition, Ira Millstein was named to the Directorship Hall of Fame.

Included among the list of 100 are such highly visible dignitaries as Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve; Henry M. Paulson, U.S. Treasury Secretary; and SEC Chairman Christopher Cox, as well as representatives from private industry, public accounting, academia, the media and the bench. Weil Gotshal is the only law firm with three attorneys listed among the 100 - and Weil's three attorneys account for one third of the total outside counsel on the list.

In naming Ira Millstein to its Hall of Fame, Directorship recognized him as "the top lawyer in the field." Of Ms. Gregory it noted, "For corporate governance, few have the expertise of...Holly Gregory." Norm Veasey's significant contribution to the firm's reputation in the field was highlighted: "No other law firm in the land can claim the depth of knowledge of the Delaware courts as this perennially top-ranked firm."

Once again, Weil Gotshal's London office scored near the top of the list in Vault's quality-of-life rankings, placing third among 110 firms overall. Nearly 2,500 lawyers from across the United Kingdom participated in the 2009 Vault Guide survey. On two separate quality-of-life measurements, diversity with respect to minorities and partner/associate relations, the firm finished number one in the survey. The firm also garnered a number-two ranking in connection with its pro bono work and diversity with respect to women. Additionally, Weil Gotshal ranked third in diversity with respect to GLBT.
