Proskauer Rose Partner Re-Elected President Of Los Angeles Police Commission

Proskauer Rose LLP has recently announced that Anthony Pacheco, a partner in the Los Angeles office, has been re-elected to a second consecutive term as President of the Los Angeles Police Commission.

As head of the Los Angeles Police Commission, Mr. Pacheco will continue to lead the five-member panel, which directs and maintains policy for the Los Angeles Police Department. Mr. Pacheco began serving as a commissioner in 2005 and is responsible for civilian oversight of the entire police department, acting on behalf of the four million residents of Los Angeles.

Anthony Pacheco is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and is resident in the Los Angeles office of Proskauer Rose. Anthony's practice is focused on litigation and quasi-litigation matters, specializing in special investigations. He is the Deputy Chair of the Firm's Corporate Defense & Investigations Practice Group.

Andrew M. Katzenstein, a trusts and estates lawyer, has joined Proskauer's Los Angeles office as a partner in the Personal Planning Department and a member of its newly formed Fiduciary Litigation Practice Group. He joins Proskauer from Katten, Muchin, Rosenman LLP, where he was a partner in the Los Angeles office. In addition to his legal practice, he teaches Estate Tax at UCLA Law School.

Mr. Katzenstein focuses his practice on: estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning; income tax issues; and probate and trust administration matters, including resolving disputes between fiduciaries and beneficiaries.

Joshua W. Thompson, a corporate lawyer and former General Counsel and Secretary of Jefferies Finance, has joined Proskauer Rose as a partner in New York.

Mr. Thompson focuses on leveraged finance with a particular emphasis on acquisition finance and debt transactions for investment banks. As General Counsel at Jefferies Finance, he was instrumental in negotiating and managing all financings for the company and oversaw the creation of its legal department and compliance systems.Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Thompson was at White & Case.

The blog will cover legal developments related to technology, media and communications, including Internet and emerging technologies, new distribution platforms, electronic and online commerce, technology-based marketing, mobile issues and the like.
