To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel:

The New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association’s (NJCCA) inaugural Ethics Meet and Greet is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the George W. Newman Law Building, 15 Bergen Street, Hackensack. Following a light dinner and networking, a CLE program entitled Ethical Pitfalls to be Avoided by In-House Corporate Counsel will be presented by a stellar panel, including Charles Centinaro, director of the Office of Attorney Ethics of the New Jersey Supreme Court, Gloria P. Barr, senior vice president and general counsel of Managed Health Care Associates, Inc., Raj Dave, vice president and senior corporate counsel of Aricent Group, and Iram P. Valentin, a partner at the law firm of Kaufman Dolowich Voluck & Gonzo, LLP. You will earn 2 ethics CLE credits by attending this outstanding program, so I hope to see you there.  There is still time to register on-line. Use the following link for registration information: http://news.acca.com/accnj/issues/2013-02-08/9.html

We are hard at work developing an interesting array of CLE programs to be held in April and May. Details are being finalized but I want to bring our upcoming programs to your attention so that you may save the dates. On April 11, the NJCCA’s Technology Law Committee will present Hot Issues in Technology Law. On April 18, the NJCCA’s Ethics and Compliance Committee will present a program on compliance-related issues for in-house counsel. On April 23, the NJCCA’s Labor and Employment Law Committee will present a workshop on ERISA and International Human Resource issues. On May 7, the Technology Law Committee, in conjunction with the law firm of McCarter & English, will present a program on the topic of cyber liability insurance. As you can see, we are continuing our efforts to bring the highest-quality and most relevant CLE programming to the New Jersey in-house community. If there are any other program topics that you would like to see us cover, or if you would like to become involved in some capacity with the NJCCA, please do not hesitate to contact me at joseph.aronds@acc-njcca.org.

Finally, registrations are now being accepted for the NJCCA’s Spring Cocktail Reception, to be held on May 16 at the beautiful Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ. The on-line registration form may be accessed at the following URL:

http://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1203538  At this flagship event, you will be able to earn 2 hours of CLE credits and then mingle with your friends and colleagues over gourmet fare and cocktails, stroll the grounds or take a tour of the historic property.  This is always one of our best events, so I hope you will not miss it.

Thank you again for supporting the NJCCA – the only association dedicated exclusively to serving the interests of the New Jersey corporate counsel community.
