The Delaware Barristers Association is hosting an evening honoring peers in the legal community for outstanding service. Recognitions will include the following: the Louis L. Redding Lifetime Achievement Honorarium in recognition of an individual who has made a lifelong commitment to diversity and promoted the business case for diversity in academia and in the legal profession; the Justice Thurgood Marshall Award in honor and recognition of members of the bench and bar who have been dynamic and progressive leaders and have tirelessly sought to improve and facilitate the administration of justice for all; and the Excellence in Education Award in recognition of a leader of an academic institution who has made it imperative for men and women of all races, ethnic backgrounds and cultures to share in the experience of a first-class education.  

The keynote speaker is Stacey J. Mobley, Dickstein Shapiro. Mr. Mobley had a noteworthy career at E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, which he joined in 1972 as the company’s first African-American lawyer, and retired as senior vice president, chief administrative officer, general counsel, and  member of Office of the Chief Executive. Lori Wilson, NBC 10 correspondent, will host the event, which will be held at The Hotel duPont’s Gold Ballroom, 11th and Market Streets in Wilmington, DE. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by a dinner.
