Local governments are finding themselves in the middle of complex and lengthy contract negotiations as mining techniques become more sophisticated and efficient. When citizens express concerns about the impact of mining on the community, government officials need to be prepared to keep their resident's best interests in mind. Confidently advise government entities on contract considerations for oil and mineral rights. The course will cover the following: review the latest federal regulations governing mining and oil/mineral rights; know what environmental concerns should be addressed before signing any mineral rights contracts; understand the importance of contract provisions that account for increased traffic considerations and thus road repairs.
