On Thursday and Friday, February 9 and 10, Georgetown University School of Law has scheduled an update on International Trade Law and Issues at the Georgetown University Law Center, 600 New Jersey Avenue, NW in Washington, DC.

Thursday’s schedule is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday’s is 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The conference will open with a keynote address from Hon. David Camp, chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, who will review perspectives on the trade agenda in 2012. Another featured session is Internal Compliance Issues beyond the Usual: Supply Chains, Social, and Security Compliance Issues featuring Paul C. Rosenthal, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, Marcela Manubens, Philips Van Heusen, and Sandy Merber, vice president of General Electric, who will offer in-house and outside counsel perspectives on import compliance and rules affecting supply chains.

On day two, workshops will look at trade and review the regulatory, legislative and judicial highlights and lowlights and offer predictions for what 2012 has in store. Panelists include Valerie A. Slater, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and Kathleen W. Cannon, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. A luncheon presentation will focus on the WTO Appellate Body, with former chairs of the WTO who will discuss the lessons of 17 years of WTO dispute settlement and offer their thoughts on the trends and challenges ahead in trade.
