On Wednesday, November 30, the Washington Metropolitan Association of Corporate Counsel has scheduled a luncheon meeting titled Technology and IP Forum: Gaining the Advantage – When Competitors (Or Your Own Marketing Department) Cross the Line with New Ads. It will be at the offices of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP at 2900 K Street, NW in Washington, DC. It will begin with lunch at noon and end at 2:00 p.m.

This program will bring together regulators, industry representatives, and counsel to explore a variety of business and legal IP issues arising in today’s expanding media culture. Our panel of experts will help participants understand the options when challenging the claims of competitors. Attendees will learn the nuts and bolts of the National Advertising Division (NAD) self-regulatory process; hear firsthand from the FTC what gets attention; spotting enforcement trends; and the value of keeping the lines of communication open with the marketing department.

The presenters are Lesley Fair, senior attorney, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission; W. David Hubbard, vice president and deputy general counsel, Verizon Communications; David G. Mallen, deputy director for legal affairs, National Advertising Division; and Roger Furey of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

To register for the luncheon and seminar visit www.acc.com/chapters/wmacca or call (212) 625-3500.
