The Westchester/Southern Connecticut Association of Corporate Counsel is offering a program titled EEOC Targets No Fault Leave & Automatic Policies: Time To Ring the Death Knell? The seminar is at the Offices of United Rentals, 5 Greenwich Office Park in Greenwich, Connecticut. The meeting starts at 8:30 and ends 11:15 a.m.

The EEOC has attacked “inflexible” leave policies by suing numerous employers and collecting millions of dollars in settlements. Given the myriad of laws excusing attendance at work now including the EEOC’s targeted attacks on leave and attendance policies does this sound the death knell for no-fault leave and attendance policies?

The program will examine recent EEOC enforcement actions concerning leave and attendance policies and recommend preventive steps to maximize compliance. The faculty will cover the latest developments in managing intermittent leave, including a discussion of recent cases, Connecticut’s paid sick leave law which comes into effect in January, 2012, and trends relating to other types of leave laws being enacted in state legislatures.

The speakers are Michael J. Soltis and Francis Alvarez, partners, Jackson Lewis LLP; and Daniel Hewitt, legal director, United Rentals and chair WESFACCA Employment, Labor and Benefits Law Committee.

To register for this seminar visit or call (203) 461-9004.
