DRI Europe Conference Will Examine Product Recalls

Product Recalls and Claims: Facing the New Challenges is the title of the inaugural conference of DRI Europe set for Thursday and Friday, April 17 and 18 at the Hotel Ritz Madrid, Madrid, Spain.

The conference will open with a reception starting at 6 p.m. Thursday. On Friday, breakfast at 8 a.m. will be followed by a series of panel discussions and other substantive presentations from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Product recalls and the ensuing potential for liability present increasingly complex and difficult challenges for European businesses, their lawyers and insurers. This conference offers an opportunity to learn the latest on cutting-edge topics from speakers with in-depth, worldwide experience in all facets of handling product recalls and claims.

Unique to DRI Europe is an emphasis on personal networking opportunities. Attendees will gain the latest information and strategies in dealing with product issues, as well as valuable contacts with professionals from the European Union and the United States.

Participants can expect to learn: how to manage a product crisis effectively and efficiently; how to deal with the unique challenges of product liability recall and claims that cross international borders; how best to work with insurers and claims professionals; how to manage electronic discovery requests; developments in the use of the class action model of recovery in Europe: Lessons learned from the U.S., and how to deal with the special concerns for Directors and Officers of companies presented by product liability claims.

The conference is aimed at defense attorneys, trial lawyers, corporate counsel, risk managers, regulatory affairs personnel, insurance claims professionals, experts on crisis management, directors and managers involved in the prevention of product liability and in recall procedures, and members of entrepreneurship associations most potentially affected by product liability risks.
