Friday, September 1, 2006 - 00:00

The Suffolk University Law School's Advanced Legal Studies program this month will present a CLE seminar titled Retaliation Claims After White .

The program will take place on Friday, September 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Suffolk University Law School, 120 Tremont Street, Boston.

In a unanimous ruling in Burlington Northern & Sante Fe Railway Co. v. White, the U.S. Supreme Court broadened the standards for employees seeking to bring Title VII retaliation claims. This program will explore what the new Title VII standard for retaliation will mean for employee retaliation claims, and what employers must do to protect themselves after an employee makes a claim of discrimination.

The program chair is Jeffrey A. Dretler, Prince Lobel Glovsky & Tye. Among the speakers are the Hon. Elizabeth Fahey, associate justice, Massachusetts Superior Court; Steven Locke, associate general counsel, Brandeis University, and Carolyn L. Wheeler, assistant general counsel, U.S. EEOC.
