Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Expands Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati announced that Allison J. Bender has joined the firm's privacy and cybersecurity practice as Of Counsel in the Washington, D.C., office.

From 2006 to 2015, Bender was an attorney at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the Office of the General Counsel, where she advised on cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policies. While at DHS, she also advised on technology programs related to international law, compliance and policy, export controls, and the SAFETY Act. Prior to joining WSGR, she was an attorney at ZwillGen in Washington, D.C., where she provided legal guidance to technology-focused clients on privacy and cybersecurity issues.

Bender is admitted to practice in California and Washington, D.C., and is CIPP/US and CISSP certified.

In addition to private law practice, Bender is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Maryland Baltimore County, teaching courses concerning national security regulation and cyber law.
