Denver Summit Focus: Electronics And Computer Patent Law

The American Intellectual Property Law Association will offer a one-day summit examining Electronics and Computer Patent Law.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 24 at the Grand Hyatt, 1750 Welton Street in Denver and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. followed by a networking reception.

The multi-session seminar will cover timely, advanced and emerging issues in United States Patent Law presented by a faculty of experienced practitioners, judges and academia.

The highlights of the summit are statutory subject matter In re Bilski presented by Steve Kunin of Oblon Spivak McClelland Maier & Neustadt, LLP. The other topics include EPO divisional rule change, presented by Maureen Kinsler of Marks & Clerk; and the State of the Court presented by Hon. Richard Linn, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

The afternoon sessions include a panel discussion on implementing re-examination in litigation including panelists Gary Frischling, Irell & Manella, LLP and Edward R. Reines of Weil Gotshal & Manges, LLP. A second panel will provide an examination of in-house perspectives on cost-effective management of outside counsel and includes Grant Ritz, Hewlett-Packard and Jeff Ranck of Microsoft Corporation.
