DataCert Schedules Seminars To DefineA Vision For The Legal Future

Monday, May 3, 2010 - 01:00

DataCert is sponsoring a seminar featuring Richard Susskind and industry leaders to examine critical trends in the legal industry and develop a framework for driving change.

Titled The Generals of the Revolution, the seminar will be held in three locations: on Thursday, May 27, it will be held in London, England; on Wednesday, June 9, it will be held in Houston, Texas; and on Tuesday, June 15, it will be held in San Francisco.

The U.S. events are being co-sponsored by InsideCounsel and the General Counsel Forum. They will feature Richard Susskind, author of The Future of Law and The End of Lawyers?: Rethinking the Nature of Legal Services. Panelists will include top legal department executives from AOL, Barclaycard, ConocoPhillips, Southwest Airlines, and law firm leaders from Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, LLP and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

Tom Duggan, publisher of InsideCounsel, said "If general counsel want to participate in a game-changing discussion and hear from some of the most forward-thinking visionaries in the industry, these events should not be missed."

"In-house lawyers are increasingly discerning, knowledgeable, and demanding customers, who are becoming ever more passionate about securing better service at lower costs," says Richard Susskind. "DataCert shares my conviction that general counsel are destined to play a major role in urging change within law firms and, thus, in the evolution of the legal profession. Their power and responsibility is massive." The focus of these seminars will be on how the in-house community can leverage this power to meet the massive responsibility Susskind alludes to in his books.

The seminars are complimentary and are expected to fill quickly. To view the agenda and to register, visit
