CA Bar Schedules IP And The Internet ConferenceIn LA And San Francisco

The State Bar of California has scheduled the 2009 IP and the Internet Conference in two locations. On Monday, December 7, the conference will be held at The Beverly Hills Four Seasons, 300 South Doheny Drive in Los Angeles, and on Wednesday, December 9, the conference will be held at the Westin St. Francis, 335 Powell Street in San Francisco.

The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on both days.

Topics that will be covered include Legal Ethics in a Technology World; Social Networking and the Law - The Sky is Not Falling; Technology Law Update; Using IP to Preserve Journalism in the Online World; Dealing with Review and Anonymous Content; and Open Source Software: Understanding the Law, Licenses, the Risks, and How to Manage its Use.

Among the speakers are Bruce Brown, partner, Baker & Hostetler LLP; Eric Goldman, associate professor, Santa Clara University School of Law and director, High Tech Law Institute; Jason Wacha, vice president of corporate affairs and general counsel, MontaVista Software; Mary E. MacDonald, senior office of the general counsel, University of California; and Abigail Phillips, senior legal director, Yahoo! Inc.
